Our story

It all started when I was little. In our part of Louisiana, local rivers have created large gravel deposits that are often mined for use in driveways. While playing in a gravel driveway, I discovered my very first fossil—a circular impression of a crinoid stem. This sparked my curiosity, and I began to regularly search through the rocks to find impressions of crinoids, bryozoans, and tabulate corals.

As I got older, my collection expanded and I learned more about the fossils I was finding, and eventually I learned about others elsewhere. We first travelled to the W.M Browning Cretaceous Fossil Park to search for fossil shark teeth, and now my family take trips annually in search of fossils in other locations, such as Florida for megalodon teeth and Alabama for coal age plants and footprints. On every family vacation, I also search for different places to stop and look for fossils along the way, even if they are in the most unexpected places.

What started as an interest in history and fossils has since evolved into an interest in crystals & minerals, artifacts and fossils. I enjoy searching for the remnants of long lost creatures and the beautiful minerals formed over millions of years. So, to spread this interest to others I created FossilsUSA so that I could provide others with unique fossils and minerals for their own collections.
